  • What does the B Button do?

    The B Button, the square green button located in the middle of the remote control, is a shortcut to setting up your favorite channels list. Once you have set up your favorites channel list, the B Button is used as a shortcut to access that list.     Can I block certain channels on my receiver?

    Yes, you can block channels, live shows, recorded programs and video. You can even set limits on who can order and watch On Demand videos. The parental locking feature makes it easy to restrict access to specific channels or types of programming, and even allows the flexibility of temporary unlocking.     How do I change the view to wide-screen?

    To set your viewing preference, start from the main menu then navigate by using your right arrow button to Settings. Select Television and press OK. Next, select Screen Aspect Ratio and High-Definition and press OK. You can then choose between the standard or wide-screen modes by highlighting the preferred selection and pressing OK.     How do I change the layout of the guide?

    You can choose how you would like to see the programs organized on the program guide. To set your preference, start from the main menu, then navigate by using your right arrow button to Settings. Select Television and press OK. Next, select Guide Style and press OK. You can then choose between grid guide or channel lineup. To view the instructions, watch the video below.

    How do I view closed captions?

    To view closed captions, press Menu and use your right arrow button to select Settings. Scroll down to Television and to Closed Captioning. From this screen, you can turn on and off closed captioning. Select Done and press OK. To view the instructions, watch the video below.

    How do I hide certain channels?

    From the main menu, navigate using your right arrow button to Settings, then select Television and press OK. Select Customize Channel Guide and press OK again. From this screen, you can check or uncheck the channels you want to hide by using the OK button. When finished, select Save and press OK. To view the instructions, watch the video below.

    How do I create a favorite channels list?

    To set up or modify your favorite channels list, from the main menu use your down arrow button to select Favorites, then press OK. If you have not set up your favorites, a setting screen appears. From here, select Set Up Favorite Channels list and press OK. This screen has a check box next to each channel available to you. Channels that are in your favorites list have a check mark in the box. Channels that are not in your favorite channels list have an unchecked box. Use the up and down arrow buttons to scroll through the list and then press the OK button to check or uncheck the boxes. To show only the checked boxes, that is, channels in your favorite channels list, select View Checked and then press the OK button.   • What is Whole-Home DVR?

    Whole-Home DVR puts you in total control, allowing you to watch what you want, when you want, where you want. You can record a program on one primary DVR Set-top Box and play back on any FTC Vision Set-top Box in your home. You can pause, rewind, and fast-forward the same program independently, so there is no need to remember which DVR has the content you want to watch.     What is the difference between DVR and Whole-Home DVR?

    Your DVR allows you the freedom to watch what you want, when you want. You can record and save your favorite programs, and pause and rewind live TV. 

    Your Whole-Home DVR is similar to DVR, with one additional feature: you can watch what you want, where you want. With Whole-Home DVR you can record your program on a single DVR and watch it from any FTC Vision-supported TV in your home. And you can watch the same program in multiple rooms simultaneously, yet control the fast-forwarding, pausing, etc. independently. Watch the video below about Whole-Home DVR for more details.

    Can I use my smartphone to find programs and schedule to record programs on my DVR?

    One of the great features of FTC Vision is you don’t have to be at home to control your DVR. With Web remote access to DVR, you can schedule recordings from your smartphone. To use Web remote access to your DVR, go to ftcvision.com and click on the FTC TV Web Access icon. You will be prompted to enter a username and password. From there, the FTC Vision TV guide will automatically display and you can browse channels, view scheduled programs, and set shows that you want to record.     Can I get information about the Vision DVR?

    FTC's digital video recorder (DVR) allows you to watch what you want, when you want. You can record and save your favorite programs, as well as pause and rewind live TV.     How many hours can I record on my DVR?

    With FTC DVR, you can store more than 250 hours of recorded standard definition content or more than 100 hours of high-definition content. For more information on the capablities of recording on you FTC DVR, watch the video below.

    How do I delete or cancel a recording?

    To delete a program from your DVR Set-top Box, press Recorded TV on your remote control or select Recorded TV from the main menu then select Browse Recordings. Navigate using your Arrow buttons to titles or by date, then move through your list until the program you want to delete is highlighted and press OK. Navigate to erase using the Down Arrow on your remote and press OK. You will be asked to confirm your selection. Once you have deleted a program, it will be removed from your list and will no longer be available for viewing. 

    Or if you no longer want to record a certain program, you can use the program guide or the recorded TV screen to cancel. To delete a scheduled recording from the guide or to cancel a recording press, Record until no dots appear for the program.

    How do I watch a program I recorded on my DVR?

    Press the Recorded TV button on your remote control to access the Recorded TV screen or highlight Recorded TV from the main menu, then select Browse Recordings and press OK. You’ll see a list of recordings sorted by date with the most recently recorded at the top. You can also view the list of recordings by title using the Right Arrow button on your remote. To view a program, use your Arrow buttons to navigate to the recorded program you want to watch and press OK. A program info screen appears. Select Play then press OK again to watch the program.     How do I record a program series?

    If you’re scheduling the recording from the program guide on your DVR Set-top Box, press the Record button twice on your remote control. A series of red dots on the highlighted channel will indicate that all of the programs in this series that play on this channel at this time will be recorded. Press OK to return to live TV.

    If you are scheduling a recording from the program info screen, simply move the cursor using your Arrow keys to highlight Record Series and press OK.

    How do I schedule a recording for a TV show coming up next week?

    There are several ways to schedule a recording.

    One option is to schedule the recording directly from the program guide. Just choose the program in the guide and press the Record button on your remote control. A red dot will indicate that the program has been scheduled to be recorded. Press the Record button a second time to record the entire series shown on that channel, at that time. Press the Record button a third time to cancel the recording.

    You can also schedule a recording on the program info page. From the guide, or from a list of search results, press the Info button. Use your Arrow keys to select the option you want, either one episode or the series, and press OK. If you think the program may run longer than the scheduled end time, such as with a sporting event, press your Info button to go to the program info screen. Press Record Program or Episode. You can use your Arrow keys to step forward or backward through the available padding times. Press OK when you have selected the amount of time you would like to add. Then select Record and press OK.

    You can also set a day and time to record a program from the recorded TV screen. Press the Recorded TV button and then navigate using the Arrow keys to Add Recording. Select Create a Manual Recording and press OK. You can then schedule a recording by entering the setting information manually using your remote control.

    How do I record a television program?

    From your DVR Set-top Box, to record what you’re watching, simply press the Record button on your remote control. When the recording starts you will see a red LED on your TV Set-top Box light up and a message on your screen. To stop the recording, press the Stop button. The recording will end automatically when the program ends.

  • How do I order a Video On Demand program?

    FTC Video On Demand Programming is easy to find and order.

    First, launch the FTC Video On Demand library from the main menu by selecting Video On Demand. Then press OK to browse a list of videos or simply press the Video On Demand button and follow the same process. Use your Left and Right Arrow buttons on the remote control to navigate through the categories and your Up and Down Arrow buttons to move through the lists until you find the program you want to purchase.

    When you highlight the program you want to purchase, press OK and a program information screen will be displayed showing the title, price, rental period, and detailed information about the program. To purchase the program, select Rent and OK. You will see a message asking you to confirm your purchase. Press OK to confirm. If the program is free to view, select and press OK to begin viewing.

    How do I search through all the Video On Demand programs available?

    It’s easy to find and rent On Demand movies, TV shows and more that are available to you whenever you choose and without ever having to leave your couch. Rental costs are listed by the title and many of them are free. The video below will walk you through the variety of free, rental, and Pay-Per-View programs that are available from Video On Demand (VOD) and how to find them.

    You can visit your FTC Video On Demand library at any time by selecting Video On Demand from your program menu or by pressing the Video On Demand button on your remote control. Then press OK to browse the list of available videos. The VOD categories are shown along the horizontal menu. Use the Right/Left Arrows to choose between current rentals and other categories and press OK.
