FTC ANNOUNCES TELEPHONE BOOK RECYCLING PROGRAM (8.3.10)
August 3, 2010, Kingstree, S.C. – Representatives from Farmers Telephone Cooperative, (FTC) Inc. today announced the Cooperative has started a telephone book recycling initiative which allows people to turn in their old phonebooks for a coupon for a free Subway® six inch sandwich.
All eight FTC locations are being utilized as drop off points for phonebooks. In addition, all phonebooks, whether FTC or another telephone service provider, are being collected for recycling.
“We are excited to announce this recycling initiative, as being green is top-of-mind at FTC,” said Brad Erwin, CEO of FTC. “It is our goal to collect as many phonebooks as possible for recycling to help reduce the amount of waste in Williamsburg County and the surrounding areas. We also would like to extend a hearty thank you to Subway® for providing us with sandwich coupons to entice people to take part in this initiative. "
