Mix salt and flour together. Cut the fat into the flour well. Add ice water and mix/knead until you form a ball. Chill for about 1 hour before use.
Combine filling ingredients in an iron skillet on stovetop. Cook until apples are starting to get tender. Remove from stovetop and cool slightly. Roll piecrust to about 1/8 inch thick and place on top of skillet. Trim edges if needed. Insert vents into crust. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, and then reduce heat to 350° and bake for 35 minutes.
