Features

Call Waiting lets you receive an incoming call when you’re engaged in a conversation on your wireless phone. After a notification, you can put the first call on hold and answer the second call. You can also decide not to accept the second call, and it will be routed to voice mail. You will incur airtime and any applicable long distance and roaming charges for both calls simultaneously.

Using Call Waiting

Answering a second call:

  • Simply push the Send, OK or Talk button on your phone for about one half-second.
  • Your first call is now on hold and you can talk to the second caller.
  • To alternate between the two parties, press the Send, OK or Talk button again.

Early Nights & Weekends
For only $8.99 per month ($16.99 for FamilyTalk accounts), enjoy Early Night & Weekend minutes starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m.

How it works
Early Night & Weekend minutes apply to calls made from your FTC Wireless device between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., Monday through Friday. Calls must be from within your plan’s calling area.

If you believe that you were incorrectly charged for a Night & Weekend call, please check the following:

  • The call was made or received within your rate plan’s calling area.
  • You have the Early Nights & Weekends feature added to your account.

Enhanced Voicemail doubles your message capacity from 20 to 40 messages, increases your message length by 1 minute and adds 7 more days of storage time. You can also send messages to groups and use member lists for added convenience.

Mobile-to-Mobile allows you to make calls to and receive calls from any other FTC mobility customer anywhere in the country when the call originates from the caller’s rate plan calling area! This allows you to make and receive calls with other FTC customers without using your Anytime package minutes.

  • Mobile-to-Mobile minutes do not roll over.
  • Mobile-to-Mobile is not available on North American plans.
  • All plans $29.99 and above are eligible for Mobile-to-Mobile.
  • Mobile-to-Mobile does not apply to 411 calls, voicemail or calls made through Voice Connect.

Navigator provides voice-guided and visual turn-by-turn GPS driving directions with automatic reroute, full-color maps and real-time traffic alerts all on your phone or computer. You also receive a host of other features such as a national business finder, lowest-price fuel finder and more.

Standard data and messaging charges apply during the first 30 days and ongoing use. You must cancel within 30 days or be automatically subscribed at a cost of $9.99 per month for unlimited routes.

Compatible phone required.

You are charged $0.30 for each message you send and receive unless you are on a messaging package or a data package. When a single message is sent to multiple recipients, the sender is charged one message for each recipient, and each recipient is charged for the message received.

All FTC customers with text messaging-capable phones are pre-activated to send and receive messages at $0.20 per message with no monthly charge.

Instantly talk across the largest Push to Talk network in America with the push of a button. Enjoy all of the extra features that come with AT&T Push to Talk, such as Quick Groups, Call Waiting and Availability Status. Push to Talk service is not available while roaming outside the United States. Customers subscribed to a Nation with Canada or Vive Mexico rate plan will not be able to utilize Push to Talk service while roaming in Canada or Mexico even though regular GSM voice service is available there.

With Three-Way Calling you can add a third person to your current phone conversation. Regular airtime charges, including long distance and roaming (if applicable), are charged for each call.

Using Three-Way Calling

Add a third party:

  1. Dial the number of the third party, including area code, while the original party is on the phone.
  2. Press the Send button, which dials the third party and puts your original call on hold. (The name of the Send button may vary from phone model to phone model. It may say Yes, Talk or OK. It may also display a picture of a green handset. Details for your particular phone model are available in your User Guide.)
  3. To establish the three-way call, press Send again either before or after the third party answers.
  4. If the third party is busy or does not answer, press Send once to disconnect the third party.
  5. An alternate third party can then be added by repeating the first two steps.

 

Remove a party:

  1. To remove just the third party in a three-way call, press the Send button once. This restores the original two-way conversation, and a new third party may be added.
  2. To remove just the original party in the three-way call, the original party must hang up. This sets up a two-way call between you and the third party.
  3. You may now add another party to the conversation. You should wait about 15 seconds before adding another third party.

End a three-way call:

Press the End button or all three parties may hang up. You should wait about 15 seconds before placing another call.

Note: During a three-way call, all callers are billed for the duration of each call. The End button may vary from phone model to phone model. It may display a picture of a red handset.

FCC Personalized Localized Alerting Network (PLAN)

FTC has chosen to offer wireless emergency alerts within portions of its service area, as defined by the terms and conditions of its service agreement, on wireless emergency alert capable devices.

There is no additional charge for these wireless emergency alerts.

Wireless emergency alerts may not be available on all devices or in the entire service area, or if a subscriber is outside of the AT&T service area. For details on the availability of this service and wireless emergency alert capable devices, please ask a sales representative.

As wireless carriers move from analog to digital services, accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing is a concern. Digital technology means more features and improved efficiency—but some digital phones can cause interference for hearing aid users.

To make sure the deaf and hard of hearing can use digital wireless devices, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) updated the Hearing Aid Compatibility Act of 1988 (“HAC Act”), mega passing regulations to increase the number of hearing aid-compatible wireless devices.

Along with many others in the wireless industry, FTC strives to ensure accessibility for all individuals, including deaf and hard of hearing consumers.

On Nov. 13, 2007the South Carolina Public Service Commission designated FTC Communications, Inc. dba FTC Wireless (FTC) the “Eligible Telecommunications Carrier” for its service area for universal service purposes. The goal of universal service is to provide all citizens access to essential telecommunications services.

FTC provides wireless service for monthly rates beginning at $39.99. This includes access to:

  • Public switched network including a certain amount of local usage;
  • Long distance services;
  • Emergency services;
  • Operator services;
  • Directory assistance;
  • Other services designed to persons with disabilities;
  • Toll (Usage) limitation service.

Use of these services may result in added charges dependent upon the service and the selected service plan.

Tell a friend about FTC Wireless and when he or she becomes a customer, you and your friend will receive a $25 credit on your FTC Wireless bill. It’s all part of the FTC Refer-A-Friend Program.

Here’s how it works:

  • Tell a friend about FTC Wireless.
  • When your friend signs up, have him or her give your name and wireless phone number to the FTC Customer Service Representative.
  • You and your friend will receive the referral credit on your next FTC Wireless bill.

Only FTC Wireless numbers can receive the $25 credit (no landline numbers); there is no cap on the number of referral credits you can receive; for each new referred line activated, receive one $25 credit, including primary and secondary lines.

Maintenance Plan

The Mobile Maintenance Program provides coverage for your mobile phone against damage or loss due to fire, theft, vandalism, liquids and certain physical damage. This program protects the original equipment package purchased. The equipment included in this package is: handset, battery, charger and SIM card.

Program Details

  • $6.99 monthly fee per device added to your FTC Wireless bill.
  • Mobile protection must be added within 30 days of activation or upgrade.
  • The maintenance claim fee is based on tiers determined by non-contract cost of device at time of claim. To find out the tier of your device please call Customer Service at 888-218-5050.
    • Tier 1- $50 • Tier 2- $125 • Tier 3- $199 • Tier 4- $249 • Tier 5- $349
  • Two claims per line with maintenance are allowed per calendar year.

To File a Maintenance Claim

For stolen handsets, report the incident to the local police department and obtain a police report number. For lost or stolen handsets, contact FTC Wireless immediately to suspend your service and protect yourself against unauthorized charges. Call 803-469-4327 or 1-800-671-0303 to report your loss.
