FTP, File Transfer Protocol, is a protocol through which Internet users can upload files from their computers to a website or download files from a website to their PCs.
A home network is simply a method of allowing computers to communicate with one another. If you have two or more computers in your home, a network can let them share:

- An Internet connection
- Printers, print servers and scanners
- Stereos, TVs and game systems
Try rebooting your computer or modem/router. If this does not work, verify that your Ethernet wire is connected. If you are connected by Wi-Fi, check to make sure your computer has a strong wireless connection. Check to make sure you are still connected to the Internet by browsing to another page. If you are able to access other pages on the Internet, the problem may be with the provider of the Web page.
